How I trade: the same three steps, every session

01

Prepare

Mark structure and key levels before the open. If there is no plan, there is no trade.

02

Define risk in dollars

Set the stop and the size first. Example: a $300 account risk on a $1.50 stop is 200 shares, no more.

03

Execute the plan

Enter on confirmation, exit at the stop or the target. The decision was made in step one.

The 3/8 Trap

The 3/8 Trap is the framework Doug trades and teaches. Instead of guessing direction, it waits for price structure to confirm the opportunity, then defines the risk before the entry.

The lesson series on YouTube walks through it step by step.

Prediction versus confirmation

  • Prediction enters before the setup is complete.
  • Confirmation waits for price to show the structure.
  • The stop is known before the order is placed.
  • The size comes from the dollar risk.
